What is BUILD PODER?

BUILD PODER aims to promote opportunities for diversity in education and research and to build infrastructure that supports diversity at the University of California Northridge.

BUILD PODER pairs students with specially-trained mentors, and provides a range of ongoing supports like help with summer research experiences, a JumpStart program and help applying for graduate school.

Why Surveys and Interviews?

We use surveys and oral history interviews to study the impact of the BUILD PODER initiative. We're planning to follow more than 350 students and faculty over 5 years to understand what shapes their lives during that time.
